Nutrition Security
Nutrition deficiency in India continues to pose a significant public health challenge, particularly among children, women and economically disadvantaged communities. Malnutrition can lead to long term health complications such as stunted growth, weakened immune systems and developmental delays, making it imperative to tackle this issue head-on.
Several government programs, such as the Mid-Day Meal Scheme and the National Nutrition Mission (Poshan Abhiyaan) , aim to address these deficiencies by improving access to nutritious food and promoting balanced diets. However, despite these interventions, gaps remain in ensuring adequate nutrition across the nation, perticularly in rural and underserved urban areas.
Whether in backyards or terraces, families can grow a variety of nutritious crops, promoting a diverse and healthy diet.
Schools can integrate kitchen gardens as part of their curriculum, promoting nutrition education while providing fresh food for mid-day meal.
Join Us in creating a healthier future by becoming a part of the Kitchen Garden Movement-because every household garden contributes to building a nutritionally secure India!
